I drank coffee in the corner. Gino’s has free internet. If you look closely you can see Gino’s photo on the wall.

Place I always go when I come home to WA. Good coffee, terrible food, surly waiters, and a sense of history - both of place and mine that together might survive the ways of development, so called. Place I feel worth keeping. Place that, if it were to go; if it were to be let go, would mean the end of Freo, the start of Fremantle City, and a loss to even more history, which seems to terrify us in this country. I’m going there now to give it money and add few more memories to our history. See you there….

Went to Gino’s for breakfast this morning. Too many lycra-clad cyclists. Nice poached eggs and spinach on toast. Coffee too strong. Dog playing outside.

We have a tendency to buy one coffee and then use their free internet for hours. One time I had to transfer money from my internet bank account so we could afford to eat. I took my porcelain hippopotamus moneybox with five dollars in five cent coins (the only money I had left) and tipped it out on the counter. They gave me a discount.
I also find that the bad art that is often on display makes me feel better about my own art practice. That may sound mean, but it’s the truth.
I love the balloon photographs though.

As a previous customer and employee of Ginos Cafe, my experience was a positive one.
The food is wonderfull and the staff are great.
Ginos has been on that corner for many years now and is an icon in Freo.
The atmosphere at Ginos is a lasting memory for me and I will always remember working in the kitchen with some very interesting people.
Ginos holds a special place in my heart and I try to get back for a visit whenever I can.
