“South Fremantle Power Station is a former coal-fired electric power generating installation. The surviving Main Building, now stripped of all plant, equipment and services, remains aesthetically significant; the building demonstrates the strong expression of a structure specifically designed for an industrial process. It was the second and largest purpose-built thermal power station in Western Australia” (Heritage Council of Western Australia).
Stripped of all machinery the walls are covered in grafitti the floors are lined with discarded spray cans, broken glass and rubble. My name for the 13 photographs used to document the power station is: 13 South Fremantle Power Station Colour Studies. It is illegal to enter the site without authority.
