Vikki Wilson & Rick Mason work in various (often dead) media, producing still and moving image works. Their work has been shown in Australia and internationally, most recently winning a prize in the 2007 Sunshine Coast Art award. http://www.scap.org.au/WinnersSCAP07.aspx
This work echoes the hybrid and ‘archaological’ nature of present day fremantle in its loving use of historical (victorian, classic modern, contemporary) modes with contemporary technologies. It involves experiments with camera & development technique and a study of the ways in which cultures express themselves by modifying the built environment.

This series uses paper negatives and historical chemical processes. Images are then scanned & printed. (no photoshop)  It evokes the classic modernist principle in that the medium & the process itself - with all
its  pronounced aberrations and imperfections - become essential to the work.
